Nicole Kidman & Keith Urban Call It Quits After 19 Years of Marriage

Nicole Kidman & Keith Urban Call It Quits After 19 Years of Marriage

After nearly two decades together, Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban have reportedly separated. The news first broke via TMZ, which reported that the pair have been living apart “since the beginning of summer.”

According to TMZ, Urban has moved out of the family home in Nashville and now occupies a residence of his own. Meanwhile, Kidman remains caring for their daughters and attempting to maintain a sense of stability amid the transition.

A source told People that Kidman “didn’t want this” and had been “fighting to save the marriage.” People.com+2People.com+2 The People report also indicates that the entire Kidman family, especially her sister Antonia, has rallied around her as a support system.

On September 30, Kidman filed for divorce in Tennessee, citing “irreconcilable differences.” TMZ+2People.com+2 In court documents obtained by TMZ, she requests to be named the primary residential parent of their two minor daughters, Sunday Rose (17) and Faith Margaret (14). TMZ+2People.com+2 The paperwork further states that Kidman and Urban have already worked out a parenting plan: their children will spend 306 days per year with Nicole, and 59 days with Keith. TMZ The documents also assert that major decisions about the girls’ health and education will be made jointly. TMZ

While neither Kidman nor Urban has issued a public statement, People reports that Kidman is handling the situation with composure. A source describes her as “surprisingly level-headed and calm” in the wake of the split, now focused on her daughters and the path ahead. People.com

Other speculation has arisen in the media: insiders aligned with TMZ suggest Urban may be going through a midlife crisis, pointing to recent life changes such as film-career transitions, his firing of longtime band members, and property moves. TMZ Some outlets also point to rumors of his growing closeness with his guitarist, Maggie Baugh, though nothing has been confirmed. The Daily Beast+2LOS40+2

If the divorce finalizes, it would mark Kidman’s second high-profile marriage ending (her first was with actor Tom Cruise in the 1990s). People.com+2People.com+2
